Fields

Quick overview

Each entry may include of one or more fields. Fields allow you to structure your data within an entry. Fields may contain text, numbers, dates, files, relationships to other entries or even dynamic lists.

What are fields in Numenon?

Fields allow entries to store structured data, making it easier to organize, filter, and retrieve information.

For example, imagine you have an entry titled "Awesome Website for Super Brand" labeled as "Project". It would be useful to have fields like "Due Date", "Project Client", "Project Lead", "Project Brief", and "Status". These fields help you quickly access important details about the project when viewing or filtering the entry.

Example: Project Brief—A detailed description of the project’s scope, goals, and deliverables.
    • Rich Text: Similar to the text field, but allows basic formatting (bold, italic, strikethrough) and the addition of links.
Example: Project Timeline—A detailed breakdown of the project's milestones, where you can include links to key documents or resources.

    • Datetime: A field for both date and time, formatted as YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm.
      Example: Kickoff Date—The project’s official start time, e.g., 2025-04-01 09:00.

Example: Upcoming Projects—A dynamic list that displays all projects with a Due Date within the next 30 days.

Field Management

Fields can be either public or associated to a label.

  • Fields associated to a label: When a label is assigned to an entry, any fields associated with that label are automatically added to the entry. However, using all the fields is optional—you can remove any fields you don't need.

Head over to our How-to Guides to see how you can manage your fields and associate them with labels.
